POSTED:
COMPENSATION:
NEW HAMPSHIRE (REMOTE)
We're the first new mutual bank nationwide in 50 years.
We are developing deeper connections between communities and the ecosystems that sustain them. We accept deposits from individuals, businesses, and non-profits who want to drive positive and lasting change with their dollars. We lend those funds to impact-oriented organizations, with special focus on farms and food businesses. The word “mutual” in our name means cooperative; we are governed by our depositors, funded by those with a bias towards the long-term, and engineered to endure the test of time. Building bridges is core to who we are, as we believe more interconnected and localized ecosystems support better community resilience and economic viability.
The Lending Execution Officer plays a central role in transforming new lending opportunities into well-structured, executable transactions. This position works in direct partnership with a Lending Originations Officer, forming a two-person team responsible for originating and delivering new commercial lending relationships. While the Lending Origination Officer is focused externally on developing relationships and sourcing opportunities within a specific industry vertical, the Lending Execution Officer focuses internally on structuring, analysis, and execution.
The Lending Execution Officer acts as the architect and quarterback of the lending process. This role requires the ability to quickly evaluate financial information, assess risk, and help design loan structures that align borrower needs with Walden Mutual’s credit framework. Equally important, this role serves as a bridge between relationship development and credit, helping translate opportunities into well-reasoned structures that allow for thoughtful decision-making across teams.
Experience or familiarity with agriculture, food production, food infrastructure, or consumer packaged food brands is highly valuable in this role, particularly when paired with a Lending Origination Officer working in that same industry vertical.
This role is primarily remote or hybrid. You'll be required to be in-person in our Concord office 2-3 days per quarter for team and culture building purposes.
What You'll Do:
- Partner closely with a Lending Originations Officer to evaluate and structure new lending opportunities.
- Review borrower financial statements, projections, and operating models to quickly assess business performance and credit considerations.
- Help design loan structures that balance borrower needs with the bank’s credit policies and risk framework.
- Clearly communicate the strengths, risks, and tradeoffs of potential lending opportunities to internal teams.
- Serve as a bridge between lending and credit, helping align relationship strategy with sound underwriting principles.
- Coordinate with credit, administration, and documentation teams to move opportunities efficiently through underwriting, approval, and closing.
- Maintain strong organization and process management across multiple deals simultaneously.
- Support portfolio monitoring and ongoing borrower engagement alongside the Lending Originations Officer.
What You'll Bring:
- Strong ability to analyze financial statements and quickly assess business performance and credit considerations.
- Experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, financial underwriting, or deal structuring.
- Ability to think creatively about loan structures while maintaining disciplined risk awareness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in explaining financial and structural considerations.
- Comfort working collaboratively across teams and serving as a connector between relationship managers and credit partners.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Interest in or familiarity with agriculture, food production, food infrastructure, or consumer food brands.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
